Title:

Prince[3]

Krith was a notorious Kig-Yar pirate lord within the Covenant empire's domain. He has been referred to by varying titles, including that of a pirate-lord,[1] a pirate prince,[2][3] and a Pirate King.[4][5]

Biography[edit]

Krith's origins lie in his early career as a pirate, where over time he amassed a following and personal vaults that contained various weapons, including a personalized Zubo-pattern beam rifle known as "Krith's Left Hand".[5] This rifle was so-named by his followers in respect to Krith's skill as a sniper, and named his "Left Hand" to to his typical favour of his right.[6]

As his power grew, Krith began to openly challenge the Covenant. According to the records of the Mind Talon, Krith rose to infamy when he launched a raid on several Forerunner reliquaries under the control of the Ministry of Fervent Intercession, using his Left Hand beam rifle to assassinate a San'Shyuum Minor Prophet. After this he was publicly declared a heretic, though this did not quell his ambitions. Later in life, Krith sought to claim the world of Malurok as his own and attempted (though failed) to strike an alliance with a Yanme'e Queen with the intent of overthrowing the Sangheili who ruled the world.[6] However, this rebellion was put down at great cost by Ripa 'Moramee, a Sangheili warlord serving the Ministry of Preservation.[3] 'Moramee led a legion of Sangheili on Malurok against Krith's own forces,[3] butchering the infamous pirate and his allies.[1]

This conflict reduced 'Moramee's legion to a handful of hardened killers, but cemented his reputation for ruthlessness.[1] After Krith's defeat, 'Moramee raided the pirate prince's personal vaults, retrieving Krith's Left Hand.[5] Years later, 'Moramee's success in overthrowing Krith would influence the Hierarchs' decision to grant him the rank of Arbiter.[3]

In the decades following his death, Krith's life tale would be retold many times. With each retelling, certain details were exaggerated or forgotten, yet Krith remained a source of inspiration for those bound to the Covenant who dared to dream of disobedience and independence.[6]
