Kafo Dein, also known as the Minister of Abnegation, was a San'Shyuum Minister that served as a notable commander in the Covenant remnant group, the Order of Restoration.[1]

Biography[edit]

Kafo Dein was one of many San'shyuum who had escaped the fall of High Charity with the San'Shyuum flotilla, commandeering the Chel Tor-pattern storm cutter Vigilance with Piety. He would then work alongside High Lord Dovo Nesto in leading the Order of Restoration. During this time, he would manage to escape from the crew of the Shadow of Intent looking to capture him both for justice of the Sangheili he had betrayed in the Great Schism and to potentially lead them to Dovo Nesto.[1]

On November 5, 2559, Kafo Dein would captain the Vigilence with Piety to loot the Forerunner ports and armories on an artificial moon of the gas giant Kus'kah for technology. However, their ship would be boarded by forces of the Shadow of Intent. Kafo and much of the crew would be alerted to their presence and set the storm cutter to self-destruct while Kafo escaped aboard a Ren. However, three of the boarding party (Tul 'Juran, Vul 'Soran and Stolt) would escape the ship using war sphinxes the Minister's forces had captured from the artificial moon. As they perused Kafo's Ren, the Minister attempt to negotiate in exchange for abandoning their pursuit of him. Vul 'Soran tried questioning him about Dovo Nesto's location, but Kafo refused and told them that the Piety's fighter complement would wipe them out should they continue their pursuit. While the Banshees and Seraphs from the Piety took on the war sphinxes, Kafo attempted to escape. Tul 'Juran would pursue him and ultimately killed the Minister by ramming her war sphinx into his Ren after its weapons were disabled by plasma fire, causing the shuttlecraft to break apart and burn up in the moon's atmosphere.[1]
