Halo E3 2000 teaser

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

The Halo E3 2000 teaser was a short teaser trailer put together by Bungie, intended to be released in advance of their showing of Halo: Combat Evolved at E3 2000, though was ultimately delayed due to unspecified internal issues at the studio.[1] The teaser mostly consists of footage from the 9 minute Halo E3 2000 trailer, cut down and spliced together into a shorter 1:42 trailer featuring some narration provided by Derrick Procell.[2]

The teaser is included in the Halo: The Movies disc.

Transcript[edit]

Trailer opens with the Bungie logo while the Halo Theme plays.

  • Narrator: They struck without warning, burning our planets.

A shot of several Banshees flying past an Elite.

  • Narrator: Billions have died.

Camera begins to pan up Master Chief, who is standing inside a Forerunner structure holding a sniper rifle.

  • Narrator: Billions have died. Mankind's last hope is the most sophisticated piece of military hardware the universe has ever known: You.

The trailer rapid cuts between several shots of Master Chief, before cutting to several Marines in a Pelican. The rest of the footage from this point onward is footage taken from the longer E3 2000 trailer.

  • Sergeant: Understood. Lieutenant, let's get this thing moving.

The Pelican dropship accelerates over a body of water toward the mountains, dropping off a Warthog and several Marines. Master Chief watches them from a cliff.

  • Lieutenant (COM): Hang tight, this may get a little rough.

The Pelican flies low between the mountains.

  • Sergeant: I want a quick, tight dispersal. If they catch us napping, this operation is as good as over!
  • Marines: Sir, yes sir!

The Marines travel through the landscape, running past some Thorn beasts.

The Marines are engaged by Covenant forces including a Wraith and several Spectres.

  • Sergeant: Draw off what you can.

The Marines head inside a Forerunner structure.

  • Sergeant: Go, go, go!
  • Wang: All's I'm saying is, there's a lot of unlocked doors for somethin' that nobody's supposed to have been in in 100,000 years.

The Marines get into a firefight with several Elites. One is killed and falls off a ledge, while another escapes in a Ghost with several Banshees giving chase. The camera then cuts to a close-up shot of an Elite Major.

  • Elite Major: Your destruction is the will of the Gods, and we are their instrument.
