Echo One is a UNSC F-29 Nandao squadron attached to Task Force Pantea.[1]
History[edit]
Echo One was one of ten Nandao squadrons assigned to Task Force Pantea during the Battle of Netherop in 2526.[2] When John-117 and Fred-104 came under attack by ten Elsedda-pattern Banshees at the UNSC Phyllis Wheatley's landing site, John called for air support to help deal with the Banshees and two Ekesan-pattern Umbras to which Echo One reported that they would arrive in two minutes. Lieutenant Commander Amalea Petrov reported that only one of the Umbras was hostile as the UNSC had captured the other one, surprising the lead pilot. The Spartans managed to shoot down one of the Banshees and Nandaos destroyed the rest. However, the attack run sapped Echo One and they could only provide air cover for another twenty minutes, a quarter of that if they were to try for the Umbra. John ordered the squadron to fly air cover and the pilots revealed that there was fighting going on in orbit between the task force, Flotilla of Unsung Piety and the Fleet of Swift Justice and they only had four hours maximum until Task Force Pantea was gone.[1]
