The Rocket Launcher is a weapon featured in Halo: Combat Evolved and its remaster, Combat Evolved Anniversary. It is one of the most common weapons throughout the game, and has since gone on to appear in nearly all subsequent games in the series.[2][3][4]

Information on the Rocket Launcher found in Halo: Campaign Evolved can be found here.

Universe and lore[edit]

Main article: M41 SPNKr

In the original Combat Evolved, the Rocket Launcher featured is the M41B SPNKr, a shoulder-fired rocket launcher used by the United Nations Space Command.[5] Original 2001-era sources such as the game manual refer to the weapon as the M19 SSM. In modern canon, this designation is reserved for the M19 missile fired by the launcher.[2][3][4]

In Anniversary, the weapon's model was replaced with that of the standard M41 SPNKr from Halo: Reach.

Campaign[edit]

The Rocket Launcher first appears in the Halo campaign on the level The Silent Cartographer as part of a weapon cache at the site of the wreckage of the downed Pelican Bravo 022. After that it appears sporadically throughout the rest of the campaign, typically as a pickup found on the map - with Assault on the Control Room particularly notable for containing the most Rocket Launchers in the entire game. They are never used by Marines, but may be wielded by enemy Flood Combat Forms.
