The Battle of G 617 g was an engagement in the G 617 system, especially G 617 g and its moon, Seaward. It was the first engagement of the Forerunner-Flood War.

Battle

A Forerunner Primary Pioneer Group made landfall on G 617 g around 97,745 BCE and reported an anomalous portion of the planet that lacked fauna. When the Primary Pioneer Group failed to submit a follow-up report, Advance Survey Team - Alpha was dispatched the next week to investigate the previous group's disappearance as well as the anomalous portion of the planet's surface. When the Advance Survey Team, too, disappeared, a medium-intensity military exploratory detachment was deployed about two weeks later. These three arrivals allowed the Flood sufficient biomass to establish a foothold on the planet and the means to travel to Seaward and beyond.
