Batar 'Soranu was a Sangheili warrior around the time of the founding of the Covenant in 852 BCE. In his era he was the kaidon of his clan, and later one of the founding members of the Covenant's Sacristan Order. The blademaster Vul 'Soran is a direct descendent of 'Soranu.[1]

Biography[edit]

In 852 BCE the Writ of Union was signed, ending the War of Beginnings and founding the Covenant. At this time, Batar 'Soranu was the leader of Feldokra. At the war's end, 'Soranu parleyed with the San'Shyuum Dovo Nesto, helping to forge an alliance between the two species that became the Covenant empire. After this, 'Soranu became one of the first initiates of the newly-established Sacristan Order, under Nesto's guidance. A saga wall for the 'Soran clan was later inscribed inside the Lonespire on Feldokra, telling of Batar 'Soranu's story.[1]

By the modern era, 'Soranu is a legendary figure in Feldokran history, renowned for having established peace and unity on his homeworld for many generations. In late 2559, Dovo Nesto relayed his account of having worked alongside 'Soranu to his living descendant Vul 'Soran, encouraging the blademaster to visit the Lonespire on Feldokra to confirm his family's history working alongside Nesto. After doing so, 'Soran decided to join Nesto in his attempt to restore the Covenant and Sangheili primacy in the galaxy. Nesto claimed that Thel 'Vadam and the Swords of Sanghelios "shamed" all that Batar 'Soranu stood for.[1]
