A Pilot is a person, typically of the military, that can operate and manuever a groundborne, airborne, or spaceborne vehicle.

In the UNSC

Trained in Squadrons, their skill varies from the average Pilot to the Elite members of the 23rd Naval Air Squadron: which were first mentioned Halo: The Flood and Halo: First Strike as stationed aboard the Pillar of Autumn. Pilots are prominently featured in Halo 2 in the levels Metropolis and Outskirts, and there is a female pilot in Halo: Combat Evolved piloting a Bumblebee in the level Pillar of Autumn (Level).
