Never Forget is the thirtieth track (Disc 2 Track 15) included in Halo 3: Original Soundtrack. It plays in the main menu of Halo 3: Mythic and in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
The track is a full reorchestration of the track Unforgotten (from Halo 2: Original Soundtrack), which is also its namesake, albeit featuring a more prominent choir accompaniment and crisper piano sounds. The melody begins with strings, but four keys lower, giving it a more solemn mood. The motif is then repeated with choir. Choir then takes the melody, with a piano accompaniment. - Contrary to popular belief, Unforgotten, instead of Never Forget, plays in the main menu of Halo 3. Never Forget was not available outside the soundtrack until the release of Halo 3: Mythic with Halo 3: ODST in 2009.
- Never Forget, along with Peril, were covered by the London Philharmonic Orchestra in their 2012 album The Greatest Video Game Music, Volume 2.[1]
