Overview
The beginning of the track is a re-orchestration of the final part of Brothers In Arms. It then makes a transition into a low pitch percussion beat. From this point to the end, the track is mostly percussion, but it does include some vocals similar to that of the opening of the Halo Theme. The percussion has three levels. There is the soft, low, and gong-like beat that is slower than the actual beat of the music. There is a slightly higher beat that is a much sharper sound, and is the actual beat of the music. Then there the actual overlay of the music itself, and it is synchronized with the vocals. This allows the track to maintain intensity, but not be so slow as to go against the pace of the combat.

The vocals of the track were adapted into the vocals for Released from the Halo 3 Original Soundtrack. The piece was reorchestrated into Impart in Halo 2: Anniversary Original Soundtrack. The choir section was later featured in the track From the Vault from Halo: Reach Original Soundtrack.

Impend is the eighth track in the Halo 2: Original Soundtrack, Volume 1.

Overview[edit]
