Burdick was a Colonial Militia trainee who fought on the planet Harvest during the initial contact with the Covenant. He was a member of Second-Alpha Squad. During a training exercise where the trainees were meant to protect Harvest's reactor complex, Burdick was ordered to open the door of a sedan, which turned out to be booby-trapped with Claymores.[1] After the explosion, Burdick was injured and had to be helped to saftey by his squad leader Stisen.[2] His injuries were presumably only stun and pressure, as during the training exercise only training rounds were used.
