Series 10 jetpack

The Series 10 Single Operator Lift Apparatus, or colloquially the Series 10 portable jump jet,[Note 1] is a model of jetpack used by operatives of the United Nations Space Command. It is capable of propelling a Spartan outfitted in Mark V MJOLNIR power armour across distances of several hundred metres.[1]
In November 2559, one such unit was used by a SPARTAN-II, James Solomon, for a covert raid on a series of slave ships in the Azorian Valley, Terceira. James used a Shearwater aerodyne to covertly insert onto the outer hull of one of the ships to plant demolition charges on it, before using his Series 10 jump-jet to propel himself to the next ship, ultimately planting explosives on all six ships of the convoy. During the engagement James was set upon by a team of Janissary supersoldiers, causing him to use his jump-jet to propel himself into one of the Janissaries to pin them to the frigate while he fought them in close-quarters.[1]
