FLY ON THE WALL was the code name adopted by an Office of Naval Intelligence operative active during the early stages of the Insurrection.[1]
Biography[edit]
In March of 2495, FLY ON THE WALL compiled a report concerning their opinions on the daring heist carried out by the group called the "Eridanus Twelve" and defector Colonel Robert Watts claiming Eridanus II for the Secessionist Union. Regarding the rise of rebel activity, the ONI operative recommended a quick rollout and strong execution of Operation: CHARLEMAGNE, viewing the counter-offensive as a necessary approach to reassert control over the rebellious colony. FLY ON THE WALL noted that it would take time to recall ships to form the battle group needed to execute the operation but expressed optimism that the highly trained ORION operatives would have enough time to prepare for its launch.[1]
On the matter of the "Eridanus Twelve," FLY ON THE WALL considered the ragtag crew of thieves a nuisance, though the agent maintained that space piracy remained a grave concern behind rebel activity. The operative urged ONI to suppress and bury the story of the group's recent theft of priceless historical Earth paintings from the Loaded for Bear, as this would starve the criminals of any public sensationalism. FLY ON THE WALL recommended drowning out this event by pushing grandiose media "puff pieces" centered on the newly retrofitted mobile hospital, the UNSC Hopeful. Furthermore, should the Eridanus Twelve ever be successfully apprehended, the agent advocated for them to be marooned on the "furthest uncharted world" that could be found.[1]
