Expanded weapon tooltip in Halo Infinite
The Commando's weapon class, among other info, displayed in its pickup tooltip.

First introduced in Halo Infinite, weapon classes are labels applied to weapons which concisely describe their functionality, to help players more easily understand how to use them. When standing near a dropped weapon or weapon pad for an extended time, the weapon's class alongside its firing mode and effective range will appear in text beneath the pickup prompt.

List of weapon classes[edit]

There are 9 total weapon classes in Halo Infinite.

Assault rifle[edit]

Assault rifles are two-handed rifles effective at close and medium ranges:

Launchers are weapons which fire powerful but slow-moving projectiles, which typically explode on or after impact:
