Template:Vehicle Infobox The Sword Warthog (full name Sword Needler Warthog) is a variant of the M12B Warthog platform employed by the UNSC.

Design details

Main article: M12B Warthog

The Sword Warthog is a specially-modified and experimental Warthog created by the UNSC in concert with the Arbiter's Swords of Sanghelios. It has a crimson-red finish like other Sword of Sanghelios vehicles and increased armour. The vehicle is configured as a Light Reconnaissance Vehicle, sporting an M343A2 chaingun modified to fire experimental Subanese crystal ammunition. Aside from the increased armour, the vehicle is also protected by an energy shield derived from Sangheili technology.[1][2]

The teams working on the Sword Warthog have also been utilizing locally-sourced surface treatments and parts for their fleet of vehicles.[2]

Usage

By 2558, the Sword Warthog was being tested in War Games simulations on the UNSC Infinity and at High Command.[1][2]

Gameplay

The Sword Warthog is available for use in the multiplayer of Halo 5: Guardians. In the Warzone mode, it can be called in as a REQ, while it can also be spawned in Forge mode for use in custom games.

The Sword Warthog REQ card is classed as a rare REQ, requiring REQ level 3 to call in in Warzone. Like the camouflaged variants of Warthog, the Sword Warthog's armour has 40% more health than a standard Warthog (not including energy shielding).[3] In War Games the vehicle's shields will break after 7 BR85N shots and takes 6.93 seconds to recharge its shields. It takes 49 rounds from an ONI M343A2 to destroy a Sword Warthog.
