The Superintendent-class artificial intelligence is a second generation "dumb" AI in service with the UEG.

Overview

An Urban Infrastructure AI, a Superintendent-class was in charge of making sure the municipal systems of a city functioned smoothly and safely. Infrastructural departments that a Superintendent-class might oversee include, but are not limited to, Departments of Health and Human Services, Housing, Public Safety, Recreation, Streets and Sanitation, and Utilities and Transportation.

It is implied that each of Earth's six tether cities are managed by this type of AI. The citizens of New Mombasa refer to their AI simply by its class name, Superintendent; whether each of the other cities refer to its AI in the same way is unknown.
