North America

North America is a continent in Earth's northern and western hemispheres. It is bordered on the north by the Arctic Ocean, on the east by the northern Atlantic Ocean, on the southeast by the Caribbean Sea, and on the south and west by the northern Pacific Ocean. South America, another continent, lies to the southeast. North America covers an area of about 24,709,000 square kilometers (9,540,000 sq mi), about 4.8% of the planet's surface or about 16.5% of its land area. It is the third-largest continent on the planet, following Asia and Africa North America and South America are collectively known as the Americas.

Nation-States

Being a continent on Earth, all of North America falls under the authority of the Unified Earth Government. There are also a small number of individual governments that oversee the region, however. Chief among these is the United Republic of North America (URNA), a political union born from the former countries of Canada, Mexico, and the remnants of the United States of America.
