MLG is a Hardcore playlist for Halo 3, the current maps and gametypes are of version 6 according to MLG.

History

Halo 3

There was no MLG playlist in the original release of Halo 3, however, Bungie announced that an MLG playlist would replace Team Hardcore in matchmaking for Halo 3 on March 12, 2008. The MLG playlist was released online as a ranked playlist on March 31, 2008.[1]

The MLG playlist along with the other Hardcore playlists were moved the the Ranked Playlists while the Hardcore Playlist was retired as of August 4, 2009.

Halo 3

In Halo 3, with the advantage of the new Forge system, MLG recreated the maps needed for MLG game, mainly the weaponry layout.

Settings

All MLG gametypes start with a Battle Rifle and two Fragmentation Grenades. Players move at 110% speed (Instead of the usual 100%), and they do 110% damage than the usual 100%. Also, the shield recharge time is set to 90% and players do not have the motion tracker enabled.

Weaponry

Powerups

All Powerups spawn at 120 seconds.

  • Custom Powerup: MLG use a special overshield powerup that a player can only use while they are on full shields or they are charging, this overshield charges up quickly, decays over time, and is a 2x overshield. (This Powerup only spawns on MLG The Pit and MLG Construct)
  • Active Camouflage: The same active camouflage that appears in any other Halo 3 matchmaking playlist. (This Powerup only spawns on MLG Guardian)
