Interior

The interior of a Longsword.

Inside the Longsword is a stairway leading to the rear on the upper level that has a large door with an additional room. Opposite to the door is a corridor that lead to the cockpit.[5] Several equipment lockers are installed in the corridors, along with two secondary crew stations. The cockpit contains the pilot's and copilot's stations, which include control interfaces and information readouts, and may incorporate an AI holotank.[6]

Armaments

The C709 Longsword is more heavily armed than other variations of Longswords. Its main weapon is a 110mm rotary cannon, which is intended for use against enemy space fighters and starships[3]. A pair of retractable 120mm ventral guns are fitted onto its ventral surface, each of which have a 90-degree swivel. These have proven powerful enough to effectively clear a hangar of unshielded Seraphs, fuel pods, and Covenant infantry.[4] Lastly, four ASGM-10 missile delivery systems are fitted,[7] which are specialized for use against fighters but are sufficiently powerful enough to deal damage to unshielded starships.[3]

With some modifications, C709 Longswords are able to hold a variety of other weapons. At least assigned Operation: RED FLAG replaced their cryo chambers with a Moray space mine dispenser that carried 36 devices.[3]
