- Kholo is attacked and glassed by the Covenant.[2]
- Spartan-III Beta Company begins training during this year or in January 2540.[3][4][Note 1]
- Team X-ray of Beta Company vanishes during a training exercise on Onyx in 2539 or early 2540. The area is dubbed "Zone 67", and is subsequently closed off by ONI.[5]
- Details of the Barugi Incident are made part of the public record.[6]

- ^ Lessons Learned establishes that Beta Company members Tom-B292 and Lucy-B091 were six years old when they started their training. Page 106 of the Halo Encyclopedia (2022 edition) establishes that Tom and Lucy were born on April 14, 2533 and January 28, 2533, respectively. This makes Beta Company's start date somewhere between April 2539 and January 2540.
