CPO Mendez sends the sixty-eight remaing trainees for the Spartan-II program on a new training mission in a snowcapped mountian range on Reach. He deposits each one seperately with a peice of a map of the area. Under John's guidance, they rendezvous and identify extraction point they must head to. Upon arrival they take down the nonuniformed, hostile guards and steal the Pelican Dropship waiting in the landing zone. Contacting the AI Deja, John manages to fly them all home. Upon return CPO Mendez makes John squad leader.
