Armaments
The C709 Longsword is more heavily armed than other variations of Longswords. Its main weapon is a 110mm rotary cannon, which is intended for use against enemy space fighters and starships[3]. A pair of retractable 120mm ventral guns are fitted onto its ventral surface, each of which have a 90-degree swivel. These have proven powerful enough to effectively clear a hangar of unshielded Seraphs, fuel pods, and Covenant infantry.[6] Lastly, four ASGM-10 missile delivery systems are fitted,[7] which are specialized for use against fighters but are sufficiently powerful enough to deal damage to unshielded starships.[3]
With some modifications, C709 Longswords are able to hold a variety of other weapons. Those assigned to participate in Operation: RED FLAG replaced their cryo chambers with a Moray space mine dispenser that carries 36 devices.[3]
