Talk:Han (Sangheili)

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

Change Name To Han 'Chavamee (Closed)[edit]

Although not confirmed to be her second name, it would be logical to assume so. - Halo-343 (Talk) (Contribs) (Edits) 22:21, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

Neutral[edit]

Halopedia Vote Symbol Neutral.svg Neutral - Elite customs may not be the same as ours. For now, neutral, until Bungie releases more info on it. --Thanksgiving.jpg General5 7 Gobble? 22:27, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

Halopedia Vote Symbol Neutral.svg Neutral - If she is of the Chavam family, then change it. However not to Chavamee, unless she served in the military. (I think thats correct.)112 23:42, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

Oppose[edit]

  1. Oppose.svg Oppose - If it hasn't been confirmed, then no.- 5əb'7aŋk(7alk) 22:30, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
  2. Oppose.svg 'Strongly Oppose' - You are falsely assuming that Sangheili naming conventions for their wives are the same as the Judeo-Christian tradition on Earth, and we have no reason why we should assume this is the case. At the very least her name would not be 'Chavamee because the "ee" denotes military service, a label which she almost certainly does not fit. Therefore if Sangheili naming conventions for wives are same as on certain parts of Earth, her name would be 'Chavam, not 'Chavamee.--Emblem 1.jpgRusty-UserWiki:Rusty-112|112]] 23:15, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
  3. Oppose.svg 'Extremely Strongly Oppose' We cannot presume anything about an alien culture. Seeing as the "-ee" suffix to names are given with military status, Sangheili names are not the "brithnames" humanity has. Names are earned from worthiness and such, and from their place of birth. I highly doubt wives take on their husbands last name. We should not put assumptions in our Halopedia. They hurt it. --Sangheili Commando 021: Fluffball Gato 00:02, November 24, 2009 (UTC)

Okay, it was just a suggestion, no biggie. I did forget about the "ee" suffix denoting military service, so I'll let it go. - Halo-343 (Talk) (Contribs) (Edits) 23:45, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
