Flipyap is allegedly an Unggoy in service with the Covenant. According to another Unggoy, Flipyap attended nipple academy.[1]
Production notes[edit]
- Flipyap was first mentioned in a piece of random dialogue in Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST; with the IWHBYD skull enabled, after an Unggoy witnesses the death of an ally, it may trigger a dialogue in which the Unggoy identifies his dead companion as Flipyap, then states they "went to nipple academy together". The line of dialogue was notably the first mention of the nipple academy, which is presumably named after food nipple feeding tubes used by the Unggoy.[1][2] In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, there is an eponymous achievement for triggering this piece of dialogue.
- Flipyap is mentioend twice in Halo Infinite random dialogue. An Unggoy may shout in a battle cry, "For Atriox! For Yapyap! For 'Mdama! For Flipyap!"[3][4] During a propaganda tower broacast, Glibnub brings up Flipyap, along with a few other names, as a great Unggoy name.[5][6]
