Firefight: Battle of the Academy
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
Firefight: Battle of the Academy was a limited-time Firefight experience in Halo Infinite, released during the Last Stand update in June 2025 to coincide with the release of two Halo Waypoint Chronicle short stories: Halo: Battle for the Academy - Part 1 and Part 2. The playlist included two linear Firefight missions which, as a first for Halo, depict a canonical battle in the Halo universe.[1][2]

Battle of the Academy includes two maps: "The Cole Protocol" and "Out With a Bang". Both depict operations undertaken by the player's Spartan, "Rook", originally depicted in the multiplayer narrative cutscenes for Halo Infinite's seasonal narrative. The maps take place concurrently with the Battle for the Academy short stories, with the players tasked with defending against an attack on the Avery J. Johnson Academy of Military Science by the Banished.[2]
