Commander Emanuel Njuguna is a commissioned officer in the UNSC Navy. He serves as the executive officer (XO) for the Valiant-class super-heavy cruiser UNSC Victory of Samothrace, reporting directly to the ship's commanding officer (CO) Captain Abigail Cole.[1]
Biography[edit]
Commander Njugna was stationed aboard Victory of Samothrace during the Created uprising in 2559. On November 5, he took command of the ship during a critical mission to Rossbach's World, during which the captain elected to directly deploy to the ground aboard U81 Condor Zulu 079. Victory of Samothrace was left in Njuguna's hands while Cole was off-ship, with Cole trusting his leadership in her absence, though also noting that she would still prefer to return in one piece to resume command.[1] While in command of the ship, Njuguna was personally guarded by two SPARTAN-IVs, David McEndon and Stefan Vídalín, who would otherwise typically serve as Cole's personal security. After Cole returned to the ship with Gray Team, admirals Serin Osman and Terrence Hood, and Spartan Charles Orzel, Njuguna escorted the officers to an assigned debriefing room while Cole fetched coffee for them.[2]
Afterward, Njuguna remained posted aboard Victory of Samothrace during its mission to Venezia,[3] and oversaw the ship's repairs after it returned to Earth to warn the UNSC of an imminent Banished assault on the planet.[4] On December 15, Njuguna served aboard the ship during the Battle of Boundary, providing Cole with intelligence updates and serving as a link between the UNSC fleet in orbit and Strike Force Zulu on the ground.[5]
