Biometric spoofer

A biometric spoofer, or bio-spoofer, is a device utilized to mimic a certain individual's features in order to bypass biometrics-based security systems. A set of biometric spoofers may include gloves with another individual's handprint built into the palm, as well as contact lenses to match the eyes of another individual.

Design details

Biometric spoofer handprint gloves are skintight and carefully sized to fit the wearer's hands, requiring the wearer to remove any other gloves or gauntlets prior to donning them. If the wearer's hands are larger than those of the individual they are meant to impersonate, the surface of the gloves' palms may be built-up so that a biometric reader would detect the correct hand dimensions. Contact lenses included in a set of biometric spoofers are designed to mimic the eyes of the individual the wearer is meant to impersonate.

Usage

During Operation: WOLFE in October 2559, Catherine Halsey provided Blue Team with two sets of biometric spoofers—a primary and a backup—in order to access her secret vault in CASTLE Base on Reach. The sets included gloves with Dr. Halsey's handprints and contact lenses matching her eyes. Without these spoofers, any attempted access to the vault by anyone but Halsey herself would trigger a self-destruct protocol, destroying the assets within the vault as well as those attempting to access them. When Kelly-087 utilized the handprint gloves in an attempt to access the vault, a remnant subroutine of Kalmiya appeared and barred her from entering. However, with the correct bypass code provided, the Kalmiya subroutine believed Kelly to be Dr. Halsey and allowed her entrance to the vault.
