==Biography==
===Early childhood===
Like the other SPARTAN-IIs, August-099 was abducted at age six and conscripted into the [[SPARTAN-II program]] in [[2517]]. She later survived the [[SPARTAN-II augmentation procedures|augmentation procedures]] in [[2525]]. Along with [[Robert-025]] and [[Leon-011]], August formed the Spartan-II fast reaction unit Omega Team,{{Ref/Reuse|Know-Scope}} which was created primarily for asset denial operations.{{Ref/Reuse|Enc22p65}}

===Human-Covenant War===
Omega Team is typically deployed with the goal of breaking the enemy's hold long enough in order to reinforce local defenses and buy time for a [[UNSC]] response. During the [[Human-Covenant War]], Omega Team was deployed to several [[Human colonies|colony worlds]] threatened by the [[Covenant]], assisting in emergency evacuation efforts and enacting classified last-stand protocols. The team proved highly proficient at the denial of critical resources, data, and even personnel to the Covenant by any means necessary, which sometimes required the deployment of weapons of mass destruction.{{Ref/Reuse|Enc22p65}}

At some point in [[2527]], Omega Team may have been deployed against [[Insurrectionist]] forces in an operation on [[Hellas]] against insurgent forces employing the use of [[Rumbledrug]]s. August was one of the Spartans assembled for [[Operation: RED FLAG]] in [[2552#August|August 2552]], though the mission was cancelled due to the Covenant [[Fall of Reach|invasion]] of [[Reach]] on August 30. As such, August was one of the Spartans deployed to the ground on Reach as part of [[Red Team]] to assist in defending the planet's [[orbital defense generator]]s. During the engagement, August, alongside Robert and Leon, made up the core of the Red Team splinter unit [[Beta-Red]]. Beta-Red were ultimately overrun, resulting in the destruction of the generators, and a danger-close [[orbital bombardment]] by the [[UNSC destroyer|destroyer]] {{UNSCShip|Majestic}}.
