| At some point prior to journeying to the Ark, Atriox would learn of Jovus, a Jiralhanae Chieftain who had become a warlord after the Covenant's fall, after a member of his pack named Buca contacted him in hopes of that Jovus and his pack could join the Banished. After learning that Atriox was leading an assault on an old Covenant outpost on Karava, Jovus journeyed there to challenge Atriox for dominance. After refusing offers from both Let 'Volir and Decimus to join the Banished and being wounded in an ambush, Atriox would halt the fighting after Jovus called he had enough, much to the Chieftain's surprise. Atriox told him that he sees no advantage in needless killing, especially potential allies, and offers Jovus and his pack to join the Banished. Jovus would again refuse and charged Atriox, only for the Warmaster to kill him with a single swing of Chainbreaker. Atriox then explained to Buca that because Jovus was more accustomed to the Jiralhane's old ways before they joined the Covenant, where a leader would never tolerate a threat in his ranks and that he and his pack would never have respected Atriox if he left Jovus live. But Atriox tells Buca and the other Jiralhane gathered around him that he welcomes strength so long as it is put to use for what he decides before declaring that the time of the Banished was just beginning.
| | Atriox heard of a Jiralhanae Chieftain named Jovus who had become a warlord after the Covenant's fall. He sought to recruit him. Jovus arrived on the planet Karava to meet with the Banished. He ultimately fell when he tried to attack Atriox. |
