Service history[edit]

Crash on Partition[edit]

The vessel crashed onto a remote planet, later named Partition,[1] likely after the Human-Covenant War.[Note 1] The survivors managed to salvage provisions and construct a shelter with the debris field. When the UNSC arrived with rescue units, the crew members had already developed a thriving community among the crash site. Circa February 2558, the UNSC Infinity's SPARTAN-IV complement used a recreation of the ship's crash site in their War Games exercises.[2]

Trivia[edit]

  • The ship was likely named after the rivals, relatives, and friends of Alexander the Great, known as the Diadochi. Their Wars of the Diadochi were fought after his death in 323 BC over control of his empire throughout some forty years. It marked the beginning of the Hellenistic period of Greece.
  • Diadochi's crash site and the surrounding makeshift structures are the setting of the Halo 4 multiplayer map Exile.

Notes[edit]

  1. ^ a b Some of Diadochi's bulkheads are painted with the post-war UNSC emblem. While this may be a design conceit for War Games (in-universe and/or from a production standpoint), it suggests that the ship crashed after the Human-Covenant War's conclusion.
