Both Catherine-B320 and Carter-A259 took responsibility for his death, unable to admit that his death was his own fault. During the mission, he had chosen to go solo and attack Covenant forces rather than wait for backup.[1] He was replaced by SPARTAN-B312, Noble 6, another SPARTAN-III Commando. He now is refered as noble. Because in spartan squads when a spartan dies (or MIA) they get replaced, but they are still in the group but their number changes to the highest number in the squad.
