Template:Infobox song The Rookie is a track from the Halo 3: ODST Original Soundtrack, and was named after the silent protagonist of the game. It contains the tracks Strong Silent Type, Postpartum, and Proceed with Caution.
The track plays during the first level (although not playable) Prepare To Drop. The 0:00 to 1:40 mark plays as the Squad looks over the hologram of New Mombasa and discusses the mission, 1:41 to 3:06 takes place in the opening drop as the Squad and the other ODST's drop into New Mombasa, as the Slipspace Rupture occurs. The rest of the track plays during the time that The Rookie first wakes up.
