Imber was a planet in the Salisbury system governed by the Unified Earth Government, located among the Inner Colonies.[1]

History[edit]

Late in the Human-Covenant War in 2551, the Covenant attacked Imber and Orbital Drop Shock Troopers were deployed to defend it. During the battle, Spartan-II Kelly-087 was deployed to Imber as part of Operation: DEVIL FREEDOM, assisting with the evacuation of civilians from the planet and the targeting of Covenant landing craft for orbital bombardment.[2] During the battle, Staff Sergeant Malcolm Geffen, Corporal Vasily Beloi, and Emanuel Barakat hijacked a Spirit to exfiltrate from the planet,[3] later leaving the dropship on Criterion in the Taurus system.[4]

Despite the efforts of the United Nations Space Command, Imber was glassed by the Covenant.[1]

Trivia[edit]

The colony was likely named after a village of the same name in the United Kingdom, used by the British Army as a training ground.
