'''From the Vault''' is a track from the ''[[Halo: Reach]] Original Soundtrack''. This track contains various remix from the ''Halo'' trilogy's OST, such as the famous "Arbiter's Theme" from ''Halo 2''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[Prologue]]. It also includes elements from ''[[Halo 3]]''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[Farthest Outpost]] and ''[[Halo: Combat Evolved]]''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[A Walk in the Woods]].
'''From the Vault''' is the twelfth track (Disc 2 Track 5) included in ''[[Halo: Reach Original Soundtrack]]''.

It begins with the ''Halo: Reach'' short intense percussion, followed by a slow tribal percussion. The first musical segment from ''Halo 3''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s Farthest Outpost enters, and A Walk in the Woods cuts in after it ends. The chorus slowly leads the music into ''[[Halo 2]]''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[Delta Halo Suite]]'s segment ''Wage'' while the tribal percussion continues. The "Arbiter's Theme" (Weight of Failure from ''Halo 2''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[Prologue]]) continues the chorus and the extract ''Overcome'' from ''Halo 3''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[Behold a Pale Horse]] cuts in after the crescendo. The chorus slowly fades out as the tribal percussion slows down and both finally stops as an eerie sound comes in and immediately fades out, ending the soundtrack.

Overview[edit]

Appearances[edit]

This track appears in-game in Halo: Reach campaign level The Package, but only within the Tribute Room, playing alongside the Siege of Madrigal. A small section from its opening, however, is played in the mid-level cutscene of the campaign level. Its tribal percussion plays as NOBLE Team look at the Babd Catha Forerunner vessel.

Production notes[edit]

The namesake of the piece is a reference to the unique mixture of tracks that are taken from other soundtrack albums; thus, "from the vault." It may also be a reference to the fact it plays only within the Tribute Room, which is both a "vault" of past Halo/Bungie pieces and the well hidden and safeguarded lab of Dr. Halsey.
