Dear Grizzlei,

Heylo! :-)

Yeah...I was speaking to GPT about the Type-25 RAV, and we both sorta agree that the two images were kinda beneficial...I don't think that they hurt. ;-)

Go to the very bottom of this page and right click on "brute chopper" and save as. All it is really is a render taken in the development room and you can drag the picture to see the surroundings, hence how I found the banshee (to tell you the truth, I didn't find the phantom, but I did find the banshee.) M19 SSM Poll

Er..about the launcher thing, the one from halo 1 actually states M41 on its side. They (Halo 1,2,3)actually fire pretty much the same, and they LOOK THE SAME(that's why the M19 page has a picture of the launcher from halo 2). The designation is the same. If you say that the halo 1 version is M19, then why did Bungie print M41 on its side? I found that the halo 2 manual mentions the halo 2 launcher as M19, but the halo 2 piggyback guide lists it as M41. On the Bungie forums, there is a mixup of names. Look at this forum: [1]. BobBQ actually says what I think. also look here: [2] The official designation is M41, while the name is M19(that's what they say). --Spartan781 CommCSV 10:13, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Rocket Launcher Debate

Dear Tony, Wasn't sure if you had read this evidence for yet so I've sent it to you. Ok, here we go. The Rocket Launcher wielded in Halo Combat Evolved according to the game manual was the "M19 SSM Rocket Launcher"[1] so this name is Bungie approved. However the in game weapon model clearly shows the marking "M41 MAV/AW" printed above the "correct usage" diagram[2]. This is the source of the naming problem.

In Halo 2 the Rocket Launcher was altered, this we agree on, the main alteration being the new lock on ability. In the both versions of the Halo 2 manual this weapon is once again designated the "M19 SSM Rocket Launcher"[3] and likewise the weapon model again bears the "M41 MAV/AW" marking[4].

On Halo3.com the Rocket Launcher is reffered to only as the "M41 Rocket Launcher" and from the public Beta it appears to be the same variation as that in Combat Evolved. This version has no acronyms after it which has caused many to view it as a new Rocket Launcher type. All of these sources are directly from Bungie.

So the "M41 MAV/AW" section of the name could be the model number of the Rocket Launcher, an overall designation for that class of weapon. Since both homing and non-homing versions of the rocket launcher, from Halo 2 and Halo: Combat Evolved respectively, are called the "M19 SSM Rocket Launcher" perhaps it should all be one section.

But what of the acronyms, what do they mean? Do they help in this debate? Using the website [3] and their military acronym list. The SSM part of "M19 SSM Rocket Launcher" probably refers to it's nature as a Surface-to-Surface-Missile launcher. As for "M41 MAV/AW" could represent Minimum Acceptable Value/Automatic Weapon which would coincide with the launchers nature as a slow firing, automatic weapon (the automated rotation of the missile tubes into firing position).

Since the M41 section is printed on the launcher for the rocket tubes, is it not possible that this is the designation for the launcher? But once the tubes and launcher are combined into an actual offensive weapon it is known as the "M19 SSM Rocket Launcher". Just food for thought.

I am of the conclusion that the M41 and the M19 are infact two designations for the same weapon. As such only one page should exist, or atleast a disambiguation page named "M41 MAV/AW" with a subheading dealing with the "M19 SSM Rocket Launcher" and the homing/non homing variations.

We should take the game manuals to be gospel in this case. Both the Halo and Halo 2 Rocket Launchers are listed as the "M19 SSM Rocket Launcher" in these manuals. Other than in a third-party guidebook (and therefore non-direct Bungie source) this has been the case throughout. At least we should stop referring to the M41 as the Halo 2 Rocket launcher. Since we do not have a copy of Halo 3, by all means leave the Halo 3 Rocket Launcher name as undecided, perhaps it should be placed in its own category as a subheading in the "M19 SSM" Section.

I apologise for the length of this. :-) Please respond, thanks.

Well we had lack of officers and plus you do lots of good, we are making 4 companies out of the members of the UoH and we now have 4 captains, we havent named any except of A-D as place holders. So you have 1 company with currently 50 people and your XO is First Lieutenant Forgottenlord and each of the 4 comanding officers of the UoH (1 Gen. + 3 Cols. ) kinda watchs over 1 of the companies incase they need anything or something like that and i got your company. Rocket Launcher Debate

Hi Tony, Just wondering how you can justify being against the merge of the M19/M41 articles based on asthetics? Every returning weapon from Halo:CE got some kind of overhall, either asthetically or functionally or sometimes both. Why is it then, that only the Rocket Launcher becomes a new weapon? We have provided multiple BUNGIE sources that indicate directly that the Halo 2 rocket launcher is the 'M19'. How can this not be proof enough? I implore you to rethink your decision based on the existing and new evidence on the project page. Sorry if that sounded like a rant, it wasn't meant to ;-) Best regards-- A Monument to All Your Sins 19:13, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

You got promoted, congrats! :-D

As for the rocket launchers, thus far the Halo:CE and Halo 2 have been confirmed by Bungie to be the 'M19'. Regardless of tracking ability this should place them on the same article. What about if the Halo:CE one were the M19 MkI and the Halo 2 one were the M19 MkII, similar to the difference between the two shotguns on that article. That would separate the two, making them variants of the same weapon. As for the Halo 3 launcher, I'm in total agreement with you. It should be listed as an 'M41' rocket launcher. My point is that the Halo 2 one should not. Does that compromise seem fair to you? Sway you? Maybe just a little? ;-) --A Monument to All Your Sins 19:25, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Well I'm a Staff Sergeant at the UNSC, if you could do with one of those I'm happy to sign up for Yankee company (Salutes).

"D" Company

Dear CommanderTony,

Glad to see you again. :-)

Anyways, the command staff peeps thought that companies should be named after their designator..."Delta" or something like that might work a bit better. :-) Captain Manticore, the Operations Officer of your rival "C" Company, cleverly named his company "Chimaera", which corresponds to his username. ;-)

Hope to chat with you later, man!

Cheers,

RelentlessRecusant 'o the Halopedia Team Fleet_Admiral.jpg TALKSPEAK 19:50, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Bah! No...I don't *need* you to do anything! :-) You're the Operations Officer of your company, after all, you have day-to-day operational command. Do you know your Colonel and Major? You probably want to speak to them regarding the name of your unit...although us over at Old Dinosaur Command probably think that a company name beginning with "D" fits better. ;-) Cheers, RelentlessRecusant 'o the Halopedia Team Fleet_Admiral.jpg TALKSPEAK 19:59, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

XO officer

Hey

Yeah, I was pacing RyannGreenDay after I heard rumors of him forming the Company system and found out that we were in the same company this morning.

Rumor coming down the Grapevine (well....from RR on IRC) is that our Company name needs to start with a D....as we're in "D" Company. I'd suggest "Dirtbag", but anyone who hasn't seen "Police Academy" might not appreciate it.

A tad about myself, I only became involved in Halopedia on July 8, but extensive work on several articles convinced RR to give me a boost from Staff Sergeant to Lt last night. I tend to aim for playing the role of historian and my current projects thus far have been rewriting biographies and battle articles.

Also, we need a template :D

--Forgottenlord 19:56, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

I like Delta...but I'm simple that way. I Demolitions was an idea I thought of. RR thought of Destroyer in IRC but said it sounded to heavy (I think that's the word, but I keep getting disconnected so I don't have it on my local logs right now). --Forgottenlord 20:22, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

--Forgottenlord 20:31, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Should we just form as "D" company, then? I probably won't be able to do much until tonight, anyways

--Forgottenlord 20:45, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

RE: RE: "D" Company

Dear Captain,

I believe that Ryanngreenday and Spartytime should be your Colonel and Major, respectively, although you should check with them. I'm trying to talk with your XO...whoa...well, OK, the organization is weird. "Formally", Phil.e. is the CO and Dragonclaws is the XO, you're the Ops Officer. Anyways, I'll just address you as CO and FL as XO anyways. ;-)

Furthermore, I believe I will take a personal interest in "D" Company. It is my favorite company, as I have very good relations with the CO and XO, and see much potential from your userbase. However, I do not wish to interfere with your first command...and if I have suggestions, permission to speak? :-)

BR55 Battle Rifle/BR55HB SR Battle Rifle

Dear Captain,

Thank you for your interest in a merger between the BR55 and the BR55HB SR pages! :-)

There is a reason that these two pages are seperate. During the Halo 3 Beta, if you checked the individual matches, you could find a player's weapon with which that player made the most kills amongst all the weapons that the player used that game. If the player used the BR the most often, the text was "BR55 HB SR Battle Rifle", not "BR55 Battle Rifle". They are two different weapons, with different aesthetic and functional characteristics.

Thanks! =]

Hey

Calm down buddy, as I have said before I am new to anything outside of editing article information. I was not aware normal users could change an article name, or how to do it. But even if I did I still think its prudent to discuss such major changes before just doing them. No need to go all caps on me ;) --Justin Time 22:04, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Its fine

We just have differing opinions. I feel that a lot of articles are about the same weapon or similar enough weapons to be merged for simplicity and ease of reading, and you feel they are totally different weapons deserving of their own articles.

No reason to dislike eachother, we are both just two Halo fans who are trying to create the best collection of Halo knowledge in our own ways. Sorry about posting at the top of your mail by the way. --Justin Time 22:15, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

How could you have done it a long time ago when the SRS99D and the BR55HB SR are fairly recent? ^_^ --Justin Time 22:28, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
