UNSC Nereid was a United Nations Space Command mixed cargo hauler. In October of 2558 it was knocked out of slipstream space in the wake of the Created uprising, leaving it powerless and stranded.

Trivia

• The Nereid was likely named in reference to the sea-nymph companions of Poseidon in Greek mythology or to the third-largest moon of Neptune.
• This ship was originally created by a Halo fan named "calamitySi" under the name "UNSC Frigate Triton", who gave permission to the creators of Halo: Tales from Slipspace to use the design in the book.
