Jul 'Mdama's Covenant (formerly) |
"The faithful" are a group of former Jul 'Mdama's Covenant soldiers who remained behind on Requiem and embraced a form of religious zealotry where they believed that they had attained the Great Journey.[1]
History[edit]
At the conclusion of the Requiem Campaign, Jul 'Mdama initiated the shield world's destruction and ordered that anyone who failed to evacuate in time would be left behind. Many of those who did fell to Fireteam Majestic and Fireteam Crimson while trying and failing to stop them from deactivating the Requiem slipspace artifacts.[2]
However, although badly damaged, Requiem survived and by 2560, was situated in unknown space. Under the leadership of Ryn 'Alun, the surviving Covenant soldiers came to view themselves as the faithful who had remained behind while their comrades had fled. The faithful were reforged into beings of machine cells and hard light that could be reconfigured at will, including to resemble their original organic forms. They adopted a derivative of the Covenant religion where the faithful believed that the true meaning of the Great Journey wasn't transcendence delivered by the Halo Array to reach the false paradise promised by the San'Shyuum, but rather through sublimation to attain a new divine form on the graveworld of Requiem.[1]
