Talk:UNSC battle network

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

Official Name[edit]

Pretty sure if the captions are on in ODST, it's referred to as the "Bee Net" in text. Not sure why it's called B.Net here. It's audibly a Bungie in-joke, but if it's Bee Net, the "bees" are the "drone" fighters that frequently fly overhead. -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 18:39, 2 August 2013 (EDT)

Indeed, it's "bee-net". So basically a "UNSC battle network" has yet to be mentioned? Imrane-117 (talk) 07:35, 3 August 2013 (EDT)
I can't say for certain, but I also can't recall an instance of "battle net" that wasn't a reference to the Covenant one. I think in ODST there was a distinct inference between "bee" net and "drone" fighters. Those drones, whatever tactical capability they have, are at least for surveillance. We see through the 'eyes' of one during the opening of Dutch's mission and we know that when one crashes in front of Dutch, it's the optics package specifically that are dislodged from the drone. -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 09:40, 3 August 2013 (EDT)
Yes, and Buck says that they need to use the drones to locate the other ODSTs, just after talking about the bee-net with Romeo near Dare's pod, so I guess the article should indeed be modified according to that. Imrane-117 (talk) 10:25, 3 August 2013 (EDT)

Title[edit]

I don't mind the long title as long as there is a redirect, but I can see why it would be a good idea to change it. I'll let you guys decide. -- Topal the Pilot Blueteam.png (Talk|Contribs) 18:31, 7 August 2016 (EDT)

We'd definitely keep the redirect around. I just thought the current title is a bit overly descriptive for an article title when "battle network" is also available. --Jugus (talk) 14:54, 11 August 2016 (EDT)
I was thinking the same thing. It is a little long.--Spartacus TalkContribs 15:54, 11 August 2016 (EDT)
