Rises High is a Lifeworker Huragok that was present on Installation 07 during the Battle for Zeta Halo in 2560.[1]
Biography[edit]
Zeta conflict[edit]
- Main article: Battle for Zeta Halo
At some point after the Xalanyn Harbinger was released from her Cylix, she implanted Rises High with a form of geas using technology comparable to that employed by Forerunner Lifeworkers—encoding a compulsion within the Huragok to serve her goals.[2] This geas seemed to be related in purpose and implementation to a similar one placed in human medic Lucas Browning.
On June 7, 2560, the Huragok scanned Browning and determined that his geas could not be removed, but it could be potentially rewritten. Rises was then compelled by its gaes to transport John-117, Joyeuse, and Browning via the ring's teleportation grid to the Silent Auditorium.[3][4] There, it activated the durance of the Grand Edict, displaying a preserved memory of the Xalanyn's trial by the Forerunners.[5]
During the same incident at the Silent Auditorium, Rises High examined the Harbinger's corpse alongside Banished Blademaster Jega 'Rdomnai—scanning it for Despondent Pyre's encephalon and reporting that logs confirmed the Harbinger had once possessed it before losing it to Joyeuse. Again compelled by its geas, Rises High departed with Jega and the Banished as they claimed the Harbinger's body.[6]
Later, on June 11, Rises High informed the Banished that Joyeuse had taken the encephalon, preventing them from seizing control of the ring.[7]
