Lambda Station
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
Lambda Station was a space station situated close to—or in orbit of—Reach, in the Epsilon Eridani system.[1] Its name may suggest that it was of similar design and function to Reach's orbital space dock Gamma Station.
In the Fall of Reach on August 30, 2552, teams of United Nations Space Command personnel were sent to the various stations around Reach to enact the Cole Protocol and ensure that navigation data did not fall into Covenant hands. Lambda was the target of a UNSC Marine Corps deployment, with two Mako-class corvettes tasked with ferrying a platoon of marines to the station to board it and secure it. One of the corvettes was destroyed before it could even reach the station, leaving only a few marines to enact the mission. While successful, they took heavy losses from the Covenant troops aboard, and only three survivors were able to escape. Two quickly succumbed to injuries sustained in the mission, leaving only Staff Sergeant Marvin Mobuto the sole survivor of the mission. Mobuto was able to shortly after escape the doomed world by joining the complement of UNSC Pillar of Autumn.[1]
