'''Fractures: Tenrai''' was the first [[multiplayer]] [[event]] held for ''[[Halo Infinite]]''. The event launched on November 23, 2021, and returned five times over the course of [[Season 01: Heroes of Reach]], eventually ending on April 25, 2022. Its content is based on the [[Fractures#Tenrai|Tenrai]] [[Fractures]] continuity.{{Ref/Reuse|TenraiLaunch}} Tenrai would be succeeded by [[Tenrai II]] and [[Tenrai III|III]] during [[Season 04: Infection]] in July and September of [[2023]], and then by [[Tenrai IV]] during [[Content Update 32]] in June of [[2024]].

The Tenrai event features content from the divergent [[Tenrai]] [[Fractures]] continuity, being inspired by samurai and Japanese culture. In this continuity, the 343 clans of the Imperial Court once feuded with each other for generations, but united in the face of an invasion by the [[Covenant]]. To defeat the invaders, the clans pooled their knowledge and crafted a new type of armor for their samurai warriors: known in ''Halo'' multiplayer under the name [[Yoroi]].{{Ref/Reuse|TenraiLaunch}}
==Tenrai content==
Tenrai, unlike [[Winter Contingency (event)|Winter Contingency]] or [[Cyber Showdown]], was a recurring event, returning to the game approximately every month during Season 01. Beginning in November of 2021, players could begin to earn a limited amount of levels within the event's progression path through event-specific challenges. Each challenge, specific to the event's Fiesta playlist, would allow players to progress by one level when completed. Originally, the event only allowed players to progress through 7 tiers every week, but feedback provided to [[343 Industries]] would later have them changing this to 10 tiers, with this change carrying into every event and operation onwards.{{Ref/Twitter|Philosohraptors|1471253460662194176|Noah Benesch|Quote=All XP boosts and challenge swaps after Tier 10 of the pass have been removed and replaced by other items, including the full Kabuto armor set / pose.}}

Helmet options earned through Tenrai would be made available on all [[Armor customization (Halo Infinite)|armor cores]] during [[Season 05: Reckoning]], with shoulder pad options following with the release of [[Spirit of Fire (Operation)|Spirit of Fire]] in January of [[2024]]. Visor options unlocked through Tenrai would become available on all armor cores during the August, 2022 drop pod in [[Season 02: Lone Wolves]]. All [[Coatings (Halo Infinite)|armor and weapon coatings]] would be made available on all of their respective cores with the release of [[Fleetcom (Operation)|Fleetcom]] in July of the same year. ===Weekly rewards===
Six unique weekly challenges with exclusive rewards were available during Tenrai. Like the challenges used to earn levels in the event pass, these weekly challenges were tied to Fiesta, and all unlocked a Tenrai-themed cosmetic option. Like the event pass' content, five of these six rewards would eventually be added to the Exchange during Tenrai IV, Champions, and Warpath, with the Withered Rose armor coating remaining exclusive to the event's initial run.
