The UNSC Aegis Fate, Hull Classification Symbol FFG-307, was a frigate of the United Nations Space Command Navy [1].
It was believed to have been associated with the UNSC Home Fleet during the Second Battle of Earth when the confrontation concluded with the Covenant Loyalist withdrawal through the Forerunner Portal. The Sangheilian Fleet pursued them several hours later through the Portal, and the UNSC Aegis Fate was believed to be one of the UNSC warships attached to the Elite fleet as well as the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn. In the ensuing Battle of Installation 00, the Aegis Fate was last seen in a stationary position in the atmosphere of Installation 00 over a Brute encampment in the desert regions of Installation 00. The Aegis Fate was believed to have played a role in leveling Brute resistance in their desert encampment and have deployed two Behemoth-class Troop Transports and one Albatross, 03, that were found nearby the encampment.

The UNSC Aegis Fate initially thought to be classified as a "UNSC Battle Cruiser"[3] from one of 1up's previews of Halo 3 before its release. According to released IGN screenshots, the UNSC Battle Cruiser was a monstrously large warship that "ominously hovers" over Shrine, so large that it appeared to be an artificial sky - every single look towards the sky revealed the visage of the battle cruiser. The UNSC Battle Cruiser was been likened to the Super Star Destroyer warships of Star Wars[4] by IGN, which are command cruisers between 8 and 19 kilometers in length[5]. Due to IGN's length estimation of the Aegis Fate, many speculated the Aegis Fate might have been a UNSC supercarrier. Because of the 8-19 kilometer estimation, the UNSC "Battle Cruiser" was the largest conventional warship in both the Covenant and UNSC armadas, outstripping the Covenant's largest warships, the 5346-meter Covenant Assault Carriers, and the UNSC's former largest warships, the 1500-meter Marathon-class Cruisers. Its only contender for keel length was believed to be the 13 kilometer Forerunner Ship, which the UNSC Battle Cruiser itself may outstrip.
After the Halo 3 launch release, the Aegis Fate was confirmed to be a frigate, not a new starship classification, because of its characteristic prow characteristics and its "FFG" Hull Classification Symbol.
