New Style

Hey, there. I'm kinda new around here, but I do have lots of Wikixperience. I believe that I can do plenty good, starting with this one suggestion. This Template uses the same variables as the previous but I believe it looks better and more professional.

There is one added variable, and that is "Quote". It would replace the quote that takes the head of each map page, and puts it underneath the picture. On second thought... --SgtBop 02:05, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Personally, I like this lighter, rounder one better. --Dragonclaws(talk) 06:26, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Removal of fields

Weapons, vehicles, equipments and power-ups fields have been hidden via <!-- --> from the template. I felt that these fields served no purpose at all with the advent of Forge. It would be much better to list the actual detail of the map using the current parameters.— subtank 11:40, 14 February 2011 (EST)

Makes sense, but you might want to look into fixing a bug that places the player number into the "Game" field. Just take a look at any MP map page to see what I mean. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 08:49, 15 February 2011 (EST)
That was actually intentional but forgotten after experimentation. The idea was to put it under (or next to) the title (i.e. add it above the image) but it didn't look so great when the title itself is a link. :P
Restored to previous location.. — subtank 08:54, 15 February 2011 (EST)

Addition of "Symmetricality" field?

I've always wanted to add this field to the map infobox since it seems like a very important descriptor of the map with pretty set parameters. Such types of symmetricality could be:

  • Symmetrical: Maps that are entirely symmetrical (ex. Haven, The Pit, Midship) or maps with such minuscule differences amongst the sides that they might as well be considered fully symmetrical (ex. Valhalla, Coagulation, Meltdown, Solace, basically maps with terrestrial environments that are the cause of the slight asymmetricality).
  • Functionally symmetrical: Maps that are technically asymmetrical (and have a great deal more noticeable asymmetricality than those listed in the second half of the "Symmetrical" category), but whose layouts are created to mimic symmetrical gameplay. Ex. Daybreak, Wreckage, Vortex, Orbital, Snowbound

I don't see why not. It's a rather noteworthy characteristic. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 14:57, 18 December 2013 (EST)
