A typical task force consisting of several Covenant ships.

A task force is an organization of Covenant ships, usually organized on a temporary basis and for a specific mission. A task force is smaller than a Fleet. It is the rough equivalent of a UNSC Battle Group in terms of the number of ships. It is commanded by a Elite Zealot with the title of Fleet Master.

The amount of ships in a task force range from a handful to several dozen. Possibly due to their transient nature, Covenant task forces are not named, unlike Covenant fleets.

Known Task Forces

  • A Covenant task force was sent to Harvest in 2531. It numbered less than a dozen vessels.
