Miridem was a human Inner Colony world of the Unified Earth Government, though the colony was comparatively smaller to those in the Sol and Epsilon Eridani systems.[1] In 2544, the Covenant invaded the world. In the battle that ensued, Spartan-II Sheila-065 was killed by the Sangheili Major Thel 'Lodamee and Doctor Catherine Halsey was eventually taken hostage.[2] After Blue Team rescued the doctor, Operation: IRON FIST was enacted. This operation involved at least one Spartan-II, John-117, and had dual goals of asset denial and partial recovery of critical cyberinfrastructure assets on Miridem. Although United Nations Space Command forces had put up a good fight during the prolonged battle, Miridem was ultimately glassed by the Covenant and declared lost.[3]

Lance Corporal Morton, having previously lived on Eridanus II, lived on Miridem before evacuating to Minister.[4]
