Sergeant Lian Devereaux is an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper of the 10th Shock Troops Battalion. She is trained as a pilot.[1]
Biography
In January 2553, she and two other ODSTs, Staff Sergeant Malcolm Geffen and Corporal Vasily Beloi, were hand-picked by the Office of Naval Intelligence to serve under Captain Serin Osman in a covert operations team known as Kilo-Five. They were sent to Sanghelios to sow a war to destablize the region. [2] Devereaux went along with the rest of Kilo-Five as they went to New Llanelli, working as a pilot from the UNSC Port Stanley. Devereaux stayed with the ship as Avu Med 'Telcam was given tagged Sangheili weapons and Tom Muir was extracted. [3] Later she opened contact with Mike Spenser on Reynes as the Port Stanley was next going to save him as he had been in hiding since the glassing of the planet. Devereaux became worried about Kig-Yar inspecting the ship, but the team killed them after a quick fight. [4] The team's next task was to save the UNSC Ariadne who was damaged but near Venezia, a known Insurrectionist colony. However, the team witnessed the ship's destruction at the hands of Venezia. [5]

Based on her accent, Malcolm Geffen surmised she was from northeast Canada. This combined with her surname suggests French-Canadian descent. Her appearance indicates Asian ancestry.[1]
