After [[The Didact]] uses [[The Composer]] to digitize everyone in the station, the [[John-117|Master Chief]] takes one, arming it with a [[HAVOK tactical nuclear weapon|nuclear missile]] to destroy the Didact's [[Mantle's Approach|ship]] and save the Earth. The Broadsword catches up with him just before he enters [[Slipspace]] and needing to follow and stop him, the Master Chief flies the fighter into the trenches of the ship to piggy-back a ride to Earth. After fighting through the trenches and making it to Earth, the Master Chief takes out ''Mantle's Approach's'' point-defense guns so the ''Infinity'' can punch a hole in the ship so the Broadsword can enter.
