As the title says, only one team has a flag. So, you only need to worry about offense/defense one at a time. Some maps good for this are [[Zanzibar]], [[Headlong]], [[Ivory Tower]], [[Relic]], and [[Terminal]].

Like most games, the player is unable to fire their weapon while holding the flag, and they won't be able to drive a vehicle or shoot in one e.g. on the back of a [[Warthog]]. However, the play can enter sideseats, such as the passenger seat in the Warthog. Alternatively vehicle boarding options can be changed while in the pre-game lobby.

The defense's job is quite obvious. Defend the flag, and if it is captured, kill the carrier, and guard the flag until its timer runs down and is returned to base.

Some good strategies are to always have a good sniper covering the flag to make sure the other team doesn't get it. You should have someone with a good close combat weapon ([[Energy Sword]], [[Shotgun]]) go in for the flag with the sniper covering him, and if the carrier gets into a bad situation, he could drop the flag, slaughter his opponent(s), and then resume on his trip back to base.
A skilled sniper should constantly cover their own flag and/or the flag carrier. Players should aim for the potential flag carrier to have a good close combat weapon, such as an [[Energy Sword]] or [[Shotgun]], with the sniper covering him. If the carrier gets into a bad situation, he could drop the flag, slaughter his opponent(s), and then resume his trip back to base.

1 Flag CTF is a game of Capture the Flag.

This game type places two teams on opposite sides of the map with a "base". Ideal 1 Flag CTF mapes include Zanzibar, Headlong, Ivory Tower, Relic, and Terminal from Halo 2.

Like most games, the player is unable to fire their weapon while holding the flag, and they won't be able to drive a vehicle or shoot in one e.g. on the back of a Warthog. However, the play can enter sideseats, such as the passenger seat in the Warthog. Alternatively vehicle boarding options can be changed while in the pre-game lobby.

Objectives

One team defends their flag, while the other team attempts to capture it. Once the offensive team has infiltrated the enemy base, the flag carrier must return the flag to the flag stand in their own base to score a point.

The job of the defending team is obviously to defend the flag, and if it is taken by a member of the opposing team, the main objective is to kill the flag carrier, and guard the flag until its timer runs down and the flag returned to base.

Strategies

A skilled sniper should constantly cover their own flag and/or the flag carrier. Players should aim for the potential flag carrier to have a good close combat weapon, such as an Energy Sword or Shotgun, with the sniper covering him. If the carrier gets into a bad situation, he could drop the flag, slaughter his opponent(s), and then resume his trip back to base.
