The Light at the End is the fourteenth track (Disc 2 Track 5) included in Halo 3: ODST Original Soundtrack, and plays in the Halo 3: ODST campaign level Mombasa Streets. It is composed of Another Rain (0:00-2:32), Through The Divide (2:32-4:06), All That Remains (4:06-5:56), and Heart and Mind (5:56-7:49).
Overview
Another Rain
Another Rain (2:32) is a piano-only version of Rain (from the earlier track Deference for Darkness), though it lacks the melancholic climax that is the second theme from Rain. The piece plays in the campaign level during the cutscene following Kikowani Station, then continues into the gameplay sequence afterwards.
Through The Divide
Through The Divide (1:34) features eerie ambiance, digital effects, and synth notes. The sound effects reuses ones heard in the track Ancient Machine (from Halo 2: Original Soundtrack), while the synth notes play a melody similar to Weight of Failure from Prologue (from Halo 2: Original Soundtrack). The piece plays randomly when roaming in Mombasa Streets.
All That Remains
All That Remains (1:50) is a reprise of Become the Hunted (from the earlier track More Than His Share), albeit with muted percussion. The piece plays randomly when roaming in Mombasa Streets.
Heart and Mind
Heart and Mind (1:53) features eerie ambiance, digital effects, and synth notes. The piece plays randomly when roaming in Mombasa Streets.
