Hey I'm new[edit]

What do you guys think of my edits, good, bad, what could be improved etc. --Jarr (talk) 17:01, 7 February 2017 (EST)

Some edits are great, just note if a link to a page already appears above, we dont need to repeat it unless its only linked in the info box. -CIA391 (talk) 17:05, 7 February 2017 (EST)

What about the link to Battle of Delta Halo on the Isolation page? A clear example of flood protocols going wrong? --Jarr (talk) 17:06, 7 February 2017 (EST)

I'll make sure not to link the others though unless called upon like the example you brought up --Jarr (talk) 17:13, 7 February 2017 (EST)

In regards to the Isolation page, "What could possibly go wrong?" is more referring to the Containment protocols not being 100% effective, than the actual battle.-CIA391 (talk) 17:17, 7 February 2017 (EST)

Ah right, I thought it was just relevant because the quarantine zone failing is an example of said protocols not being effective at all. The linked battle was poking at the Installation 00's bloated confidence --Jarr (talk) 17:18, 7 February 2017 (EST) --Jarr (talk) 17:18, 7 February 2017 (EST)

Its alright. Side note, doing that many edits on your first day really gives admins and so on heart attacks(especially after a situation we had recently). If you want a suggestion, if was you slow down. See what is reverted/kept, and base future edits on that. Cause seriously that helped me around my early days friend. :) I like don't see any bad intent from ye after all.-CIA391 (talk) 17:27, 7 February 2017 (EST)

All right, will make sure to bear that advice in mind and calm the speed down. Thanks bud. I tend to be quite passionate regarding categories and consistency; what makes a victory more significant than another as you say on the Mombasa page etc. --Jarr (talk) 17:31, 7 February 2017 (EST)

Word replacing[edit]

Hi, okay sooo, I don't wanna be mean or anything buuuut.

Most, if not all of your edits are just you replacing words with synonyms for no reason. While I will assume good faith of you, it might be hard for others to do so as it comes across as either: trying to increase edit count to rank up or trolling. The edit on the Covenant page "Following the death of the Prophet of Regret, the Prophet of Truth naughtily gave the Jiralhanae command over the Covenant's fleets." definitely seems a bit fishy.

So you might wanna be more professional with your edits, alright? Seeing your funny edits gave me a good laugh xD But try to be a bit more serious about it yeah? Just some adviceEditorguy (talk) 17:31, 7 February 2017 (EST)

Oh right, I put naughtily because I thought whas Truth did was very much a dick move to do to the race that had protected his kind for so long. --Jarr (talk) 17:32, 7 February 2017 (EST)

It was a dick move xD but describing it as "naughtily" comes across as very unprofessional haha xD. The only opinions we can have in articles are opinions of other characters.Editorguy (talk) 17:34, 7 February 2017 (EST)

Was the New Labour reference with regards to ONI too far do you think? I mean it was reverted but I thought it was a reasonable brownie-point contextual reference a bit like how at one time trivia compared WW2 to the Human-Covenant War --Jarr (talk) 17:36, 7 February 2017 (EST)

I didn't see that edit. But anything that is trivia-esque belongs in the trivia section of articles. Or you can make a section if it doesn't exist.Editorguy (talk) 17:38, 7 February 2017 (EST)

Thing is I did put it in the trivia section but I think that Alertfriend fella reverted it --Jarr (talk) 17:38, 7 February 2017 (EST)

It was reverted because it was factually incorrect. Alertfiend - Warning, my comments may appear passive aggressive. (Converse) 17:41, 7 February 2017 (EST)

So how could I factually correct it? The comparison is legit after all if you think Iraq War --Jarr (talk) 17:42, 7 February 2017 (EST)

I'm sorry, I can't assume good faith of you anymore, you're totally trolling xD I'm staying out of this mess.Editorguy (talk) 17:45, 7 February 2017 (EST)

I'm not trolling mate seriously. There was a Did you Know section that talked about ONI tricking the Navy into attacking a Jackal base under a false pretext. --Jarr (talk) 17:46, 7 February 2017 (EST)

The two events are no where near comparable when you line up what caused it, what happened, and the aftermath. So no, they are not legit when compared. Alertfiend - Warning, my comments may appear passive aggressive. (Converse) 17:50, 7 February 2017 (EST)

Their's always the integrity and the build up to it though. Reason for the operation. --Jarr (talk) 17:51, 7 February 2017 (EST)

Minor note[edit]

For future use, use ":"(a colons) to help make reading talk pages easier friend. I do admit took me awhile to learn that myself as I avoided using talk pages for ages. xD

For example a conversation could look like this.-CIA391 (talk) 17:55, 7 February 2017 (EST)

Hello this is Chris.-- 0 colon

I am John.-- 1 colon
I am Kelly.-- 2 colons
I am Fred.-- 3 colons

(indent reset)I am Linda.-- Resetting indents so they don't cause problems with the conversation.

Just out of interest[edit]

Who threw the first punch in the Forerunner-Precursor war, who was more in the wrong? Forerunners for throwing a tantrum over not being chosen, or Precursors for not anticipating the Forerunners rising against them and being overconfident? --Jarr (talk) 18:31, 7 February 2017 (EST)
